The Fourth Engineering Corp of Northwest Power Construction is a first class general contract in construction and installation affiliated to Shaanxi Electric Power Company. Since its establishment in 1952, it has completed 17 large-medium projects in textile industry and 52 new & expanded thermal power plants, with the total installed gross capacity of 8000MW and other more than 200projects in industrial and civil architectures. With registered capital of 103.68 million Yuan and credit rating of AAA, it is the contract honoring and credit keeping enterprise in Shanxi Province. The corporation passed the Third Party certification of ISO9002 quality system and the quality certification by CCS in 1997 and passed the Third Party certification of Three-in-one system, namely, QMS, OHSMS, EMS in 2003.
The corporation owns not only 14 professional companies, namely, Human Resources Company, Material & Tool Company, Machinery Company, Foundation-Treatment Company, Building Firm, Flue-gas Tower and Water Tower Construction Firm, Power Transformation and Transmission Firm, Installation Company, Decoration company, Hongxing Building Material Company, Field Mixing Station, Power Construction Business, and Zhonghua Real Property, but also another 12 first class projects which are directly in the charge of the corporation. Up to now, there are 3984 employees. Among them 91 staff members have got senior titles, 240 medium-grade technical titles, 459 junior-grade titles, 93 have been trained as manager candidates including 62 first class project managers, and 71 mechanists. In terms of the equipment, the corporation owns the property of 904 modern construction machines including 5 sets of 1.6m3 excavators, 16 sets of 162kw bulldozers, 5 sets of 1500 tower cranes, 6 sets of gantry cranes, 6 sets of construction lifters, 7 concrete90 stations, 20 sets of 7m3 concrete tank cars, 10 sets of concrete pump cars 120m3 /h, 45 sets of 20t stale cars and trucks. In 2002, the total machinery equipping rate was 13.1KW per capital and the capacity of simultaneously undertaking 6 large thermal power plants, and dozens of medium-small size power plants and high-rise civil architectures. For many times, the projects completed by our corporation have been praised as high-quality projects at the ministerial, provincial as well as municipal level. The thermal power plant of Qilu Petrochemical company in Shandong province won Luban Award; Qiling Power Plant Phase II project won National Quality Silver Award; 3#4# generating units project of Baoji No.2 Power Plant was also gained a good fame of a excellent project by China National Power Company; San-comic Mansion project in Pudong, Shanghai got the honor of Shanghai High Quality Project; Hanchen No.2 Power Plant Project in Shaanxi constructed in 2003 was chosen as a model building site by Datang Group; in 2004, 1# high rise building at East Gate was also chosen as Provincial Civilized Construction Site; and the high residence building of Power Supply Administration Company of Shaanxi won the prize of Yanta Cup.
The corporation has being worked hard for cooperation with overseas partners. It has successively conducted cooperation and technical exchange with Kuwait, Czechoslovakia, Japan, Germany, Finland, and undertook the construction project of Sagardighi 2×300MW power plant in India in 2005.
During the last 54 years since its foundation, the corporation has always being adhered to the guideline of coordinated development of two civilizations and made a remarkable achievement in both material and spiritual civilizations and won lots of honors such as “Excellent unit of in Electric Power Science and Technology in Ministry of Power Industry”, “Excellent Unit in Ideology and Political Work in National Power System”, “National Model Home for Employees”. The corporation has edged into the advanced ranks in quality and safety and civilized construction in China, and its overall strength has entered into the top 500 in national construction enterprises and the top 13 in national electric power construction enterprises. Since 2000, the corporation successively won the first prizes of state level for its modernized management and was praised to be an advanced unit in quality management by constructing high quality projects and having both the clients’ satisfaction and its own profit in pocket. What’s more, the corporation was awarded the “Shaanxi Model Civilized Unit” by Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government in 2003. The archives management of the corporation was praised to be among the best ones in China in 2005.
